Federally Protected Profession

Training in Complementary Therapy – Structural Integration

The profession of “Complementary Therapist with a Federal Diploma” has existed in Switzerland since 2015. Around 12,000 practitioners have so far benefited from this protected professional title with clearly defined skills and quality standards. The title can be obtained after passing the Higher Professional Examination for Complementary Therapy. The responsible body is the Professional Organisation Complementary Therapy (OdA KT).

The path to the diploma is 2-stage: First, the OdA KT branch certificate is obtained. The federal diploma is only awarded later – after proven 2 years of professional practice and supervision as well as passing the Higher Professional Examination.

Currently, 22 complementary therapy methods are recognised by the OdA KT – including the Structural Integration method.

FAQ

FAQ on Registration & Further Education

How can I register after completing my training?

After acquiring the branch certificate, Structural Integration therapists can register directly with the registration offices. After successful registration, they appear on the official therapist lists of these offices.

Why is registration important?

Registration is a prerequisite for contributions to therapy costs for many health insurance companies or supplementary insurance policies. Registration makes it easier for our clients to access reimbursements through their supplementary insurance.

Are further education and training courses compulsory?

Yes. Regular further training is required to maintain registration with EMR or ASCA.

Where can I find suitable further training courses?

Registration offices and professional associations are constantly publishing suitable offers. Many training institutes also offer regular further training courses – online and on site.

Who can participate in the further training courses?

Some institutes only open their further training courses to graduates of their own program. It is therefore worth clarifying the terms and conditions of participation beforehand.

Which further training courses are recognised?

In addition to specific courses on Structural Integration, EMR and ASCA also accept subject-related or cross-method further training courses.
